So Clichy has just became a bad player and a headless chicken over night because he joined Man City To say Clichy isnt very good is comical , he's been one of the top 5 left backs in the EPL since Cole left for Chelsea....Am i right in saying if Evra was sold to Real Madrid and Man United had bought Clichy would he a bad player or a very good left back who is also a French International??? There are some very deluded Man United Fans out there also , this whole we dont fear Man City attitude and belittling them is laughable....Man City are becoming a force and will become an even bigger force within the next few years , they have a quality youth system , bags of money , a squad filled with some world class players and will also keeping adding to the team!!!

Uefa can go f**k themselves. Its if they want to go back to communist Russia. People should be allowed spend their money how they please. If Sheikh Mansour wants to pump millions into his own club then he should be allowed. City are providing more competition in the premier league which every used to say they want and hopefully City can provide more competition in the champions league.

there should be a limit on how much money clubs can spend and there also should be a limit put on players wages

No. As someone earlier in the thread said he's been a headless chicken for 2 years now. Personally, I think it's been longer than that. He has cost us a number of points/goals in the last few years. He started off well early in his career but his progress flat lined about 3 years ago. £7m was good business by Arsenal as they have a ready replacement in Gibbs at the club. Someone else said that Gibbs is injury prone although I would like to say that the major injury he had last season/the season before was a broken bone in his foot...so it's hardly a recurring injury and doesn't necessarily mean his injury prone.

Ok whatever, we will just have to wait and see. I think Kolorov is better than him especially going forward and has a wicked shot. Clichy on the other hand is good going forward but has one of the worst shots I have ever seen. Neither are brilliant defensively but Kolorov has only had one season in the Premier League...I would reserve judgement on his defending until the end of this season.

Owners have been pumping money into clubs since football began, its just a case now that the amounts have reached levels never thought possible. There's a plausible arguement for and against whats happening at City. They are distorting the market, but they have the money to back it up. Clubs like leeds however who dont have the backing of a rich benefactor should be protected from themselves.

and what happens the day these benefactors get tired of their plaything? How do we know hom much money these benefactors have a la Portsmouth? Whatever happened to the fit and proper owners test? If a club signs a sponsorship deal with a third party with a vested interest or unusual links should it not be dealt with?I think well there are flaws in UEFA's financial laws they are certainly an improvement and would reccomend certain posters to read the work of David Conn

When i win the lotto (and it will happen) i wont be allowed to pump millions into Shelbourne and get us into the champions league because of uefa's loony new socialist rules. If UEFA really do enforce this then LOI clubs will be struggling to even be allowed into Europe let alone be able to compete.
