Pulled out VVD deal. Only Liverpool could have failed to get the deal over the line from this position

Is it a smoke screen for the player to push through the transfer or have they been caught by the balls tapping up... |

Not surprised they pulled out. He would have been a good signing. They will go and sign some dross from Frankfurt now. |

Don't think so. Pretty sure you will see city reignite their interest tomorrow. Surely Liverpool can't release a statement then go back to Southampton and try sign him |

Monday it looked like we would have a pretty successful window with salah and VVD. Today we are linked with some unknown winger from sporting.
It's like signing rickie Lambert all over agaithe joys of supporting Liverpool |

A monumental f**k up. They'll probably get better value elsewhere but they'll struggle to get a better centre half

I wouldn't be surprised if VVD still moves on in the summer, Liverpool will more than likely still sign a quality center half imo.
Stefan De Vrij had a superb season for Lazio for example, you could probably get him for €30million!

Awaits the signing of Steven Caulker as both striker and center half.

The apology is a complete admission of guilt. And seeing that they are banned from signing youth players for 2 years they feared the FA would come down on them hard for this one.
How they got themselves into this mess is unbelievable and you would wonder now would klopp start to consider his own position. His number 1 summer target is gone and Liverpool are now stalling on his number 2 target. |

Remember when Liverpool's top target was Alexis Sanchez when Suarez left. Who did they end up with that summer. Oh yeah balotelli
Just when they wanted to make an impact in the transfer market they become a laughing stock |

no way would they get de vrij for €30m. the fact that they were willing to pay £50m for VvD means that teams will double up the prices on their CBs when Liverpool come calling. I wonder how many back-up targets klopp has. he seems to have gone full throttle for salah and VvD but has failed so far.

Not getting VVD over the line is a monumental f*ck up by Liverpool. The player himself chose them over Chelsea and City ffs! He really would have transformed their defence and could have formed a great partnership with Matip. Klopp must be losing his sh*t over this.

Its unclear whether the player chose Liverpool, or whether City just pulled out as the asking price was too high. Were Chelsea even interested or was that just paper talk? Will be interesting to see what happens now. The player could put in a transfer request and force a move away

Nobody died and there are other centre backs in the world so I lost no sleep last night.
I could still see VVD ending up at Liverpool with the transfer fee being a lot higher than it would have been previously.

The comedy club continue to be always good for a laugh. Liverpool really are an absolute shambles when it comes to transfers
