Bit of an emergency here lads. Is there anywhere in Dublin open on a Sunday that can repair a laptop?  Or anyone that can fix it on a Sunday? I work from home so need to have it working for Monday.

Was on the internet and it crashed and it's stuck in this BIOS/Operating menu.

Electronic shop in Omni opens on a Sunday.

Unplug it, take battery out, and hold your finger on the power button for 30 seconds. That often does the trick!

Did all that but no joy. Flatmate who's more of a tech head than me couldn't get it working.

Cheers for the electronic shop suggestion Thumbs Up

Have you tried loading your computer on safe mode? Google for answers?

I can guarantee you Dave from the electronic shop will also be googling how to fix the problem.

I can't even get past the 1980s operating screens to do that.

How old is it?

If it’s riddled maybe just but a new wan ... not that expensive and you will obviously need it going forward.
He would have to buy a Delorean to need it going backward.

you work from home and you have to provide your own laptop.   What sort of company or org do you work for.   Amateur hour not issuing you with a device setup by the icT unit and paid for by the company.

It sounds like your laptop does not recognize your hard disk and can't boot beyond that point.

In some of the older model laptops you can take it out easily enough - so take it out and reseat it. If you cant do that.

Go into the BIOS and see if the disk is recognized, if it is, restore defaults and boot it up again.

If that still fails,
Send me on a screenshot of where it fails.

He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.
