Said it several times before, Westwood is a top keeper. Very like Given, great shot stopper but his commanding of his box can be improved

There's no doubting he made a few great saves. But for the 1st goal he put himself in trouble with his positioning and was beaten at his near post. Top class keepers don't do that. We just have to hope he retains his place and the game time improves him which it surely will.

I've lost all confidence in Forde after the last couple of games anyway.

His Arsenal rating!.

Keiren Westwood - 8

Westwood did superbly in the first half. Mignolet-esque you could almost say in keeping us in with a fighting chance of getting something from the game. Very pleasing performance after some criticism at Crystal Palace last time out. Not much he could do about any of the Arsenal goals.

Jackie Charlton, Eoin Hand
Johnny Giles. Ireland
Mick McCarthy, Stephen Staunton
Cascarino
Tony Galvin, Niall Quinn

He was good against Arsenal. Deserved the 8 rating.

Westwood is a good EPL standard level keeper, which the likes of Forde are not.

Forde done well when called upon, no-one can doubt that but the past few games he has been very suspect.

Hopefully Westwood gets a chance to stake a claim for the number 1 spot, now that he's playing week in week out for Sunderland.

Seems to be a good shot stopper, good to see him getting games,he will get plenty of practice with that poor defense in front of him.

Have to agree on that.
No reason if starting for Sunderland why he shouldn't be our no. 1

Blessing for him that PDC is gone because his form would've seen him dropped very very soon. Needs to up his game under the new manager big time to keep his place

Confused Many on here, including the Sunderland boys seem to think he's doing a good job. Think it's wrong to be making assumptions on him from only seeing higlights on MOTD etc.

You seem to be hypercritcal of him?

Have you seen some of the goals hes conceded? Have a look on Sunderland forums. They dont rate him. Just because he stops a few shots during the matvh doesnt give you lee way to concede cheap goals
