Probably not good enough to get in the team but he’s still a far better option than McClean (and a few others)! Wouldn’t be a bad option coming off the bench.

Hayes is a model pro.

Not first choice, but is 100% reliable, has always come in and done a professional job providing cover for others.

He is a tidy player, always makes himself available for a pass, neat In possession and plays wherever he is asked with no fuss. I'd prefer him covering left back than McClean.

I like Hayes a lot. Agree with everything mentioned above. That said, I think it would be more beneficial long term to include a young player rather than Hayes. If manning can’t even get in as the backup left back, I don’t think Hayes will. However it’s good to see him playing well and getting some credit at Celtic, he’s always done well when he’s played whether on the wing or at lb

Agree, I like him but its Steven's/Manning that should be competing but I'd have Hayes next in line. Hayes broken leg after joining Celtic didnt help his career, not does the fact he is 32 and not a nailed on starter but he is a cool head who can handle big games if/when needed.

In the first half he was one of three Celtic players that weren't a disgrace - you will never fault him for effort that's for sure. I think he's still worth a place in Ireland's squad but I'm slightly biased
