I read that article, I assumed there was some new information. But just a re-heat of the payment in-lieu stuff, and moaning about him commuting from England. If you are a CEO of an organization with a multi-million euro turnover, and are not making enemies, then you are not doing your job right!

A shame.  The FAI are less likely to get the funding Irish football needs with him in position imo.

I presume he's got a majority vote of confidence from the board?

So, if he was as useless as many have said on here why would he get the vote of confidence?

For the record, I think he's lucky to survive after the performance at the Oireachtas committee but he must be viewed as being successful in other areas of his role if the board are happy to keep hold of him.

As far as I can recall, every CEO / Head of the FAI has been considered incompetent and/or corrupt by a significant number of supporters. And ever thus shall it remain.

Maybe the board are useless.   Using your logic above Delaney was brilliant as he received huge support time after time.

We have only had 3 CEO’s as far as I know.  Rooney was decent.  Delaney was a disaster and Hill’s time is to go now after putting the funding of the organisation in jeopardy and failing to deal with SIPTU and pay for ordinary staff members while getting pay increases for himself and paid for holidays which is against fai rules.

We all know that there was no corporate governance during the Delaney era which was why that was allowed to happen.
Changes have been made to address this. So it's not the same.

I wouldn't disagree with that and wouldn't use the term useless but, as I said, it hasn't exactly been rosy. In fact, I'd say it's been quite challenging. The fact that these discussions are being held would suggest this also. I'd be pretty confident there would be quite a few FAI staff that wouldn't have much confidence in him. So, to come out of a board meeting not getting sacked isnt quite the triumph we might think it is.

Why was The 2002 World Cup prep a sh*tshow? Why was John Delaney in power for 15 odd years? Why was Don Givens Ireland U21 manager for 10 years?

C'est la vie. This is The FAI.
