Been told by Burnley he can leave, according to the man himself at the presser on RTE just now. He has another year on his contract.

Not surprising considering how little he played with his injuries and how well Burnley did this season.

Move back to Stoke? Or reunite with Pulis in Middlesbrough? With a bit of coaching thrown in?

Did he actually say he was told he can leave? The reports I've read suggest that he's open to leaving, rather than being told to leave.

He has one year left on his contract so they can’t tell him to leave!
He was probably told he is unlikely to see much first team action and can leave if he finds another club. I’m sure a few championship clubs would be interested.

He hasn't been told to leave at all. He's been told he can leave. What they're saying is that they don't see the value in paying his wages for the next year, basically. That's despite paying £3m for him last summer.

Would be a good move with Maguire out... Burnley signed Vydra today too, so will be even further down the pecking if he doesnt move somewhere.

Think he's done. My favourite player of the last few years but maybe no harm. MON constantly turning to him last campaign when he clearly wasn't fit was ridiculous.
Such a shame he wasn't fit for Euro 2016, he did more than any man to get us there.
