In realtion to Ireland...of course we won't and shouldn't see him in green again.

Doyle has been downhill for 5 years now.
Walters still been brilliant for us in that time.

Odd comment to make considering they were born in the same month and year.
Yeah that just isn't true!Up until about a year and a half ago Walters has been massively influencial for us. Injuries have taken their toll and his age is now catching up with him unsurprisingly

I think his game against Uruguay was perhaps his best even Ireland performance.

Thought he was brilliant against Austria at home too. Age/injuries definitely taking their toll, and being asked to play as a winger hasnt helped him either.

I came across this quote from him from the MOTD interview which I found strange

“With Ireland we were fourth favourites to get out of the group with Serbia and Austria, Wales. Everyone gave us no chance.''

Seriously?  I think everyone was buzzing when the draw was made and relished the fact that we could win the group.

I love Walters but he's talking serious pony there

I’m sure the odds were tight but would we not have been 4th favs at the start too with the bookies?

We were 2/9 not to qualify, 3-1 to qualify.

While I think topping the group is definitely up for grabs I think our mentality means we will always settle for the playoffs and that is where I think we will finish with Austria winning the group with a few points to spare.
