I'd say he'll need to play a lot of Cup games in that case.

Since he got into the EPL with Stoke in 2010/11, his seasonal league tally has been 6, 7, 8, 5, 8, 5 and 4 (43 in 7 seasons).

Which makes his scoring rate for ROI all the more admirable.

Noone's saying that he's a prolific striker but again you're ignoring the fact that he wasn't played in his natural forward position when it comes to scrutinising his goalscoring record.

A more accurate barometer would be judging him on games started up front and his goal ratio against that.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Walters has proved himself a very capable EPL player, how anyone could dispute that is beyond me. I think a slight anti-ROI bias may be the cause...
We're decent enough..

Walters could get more than 10+ goals next season in all competitions.....
Could he get 10+ in the league - nope.

He's just not a natural finisher. A hard working attacking premiership player but has never been a goal scorer.
If he could score 10+ goals a season I'm positive stoke would have him up front. It's not like they have anybody who is currently banging them in.
Crouch was the top scorer this season with 7.

He has only scored double figures in the league  once in his career, a 13 goal season at Ipswich.
He is a brilliant signing for Burnley though, he is just the kind of fella you would want around a dressing room and leads by example on the pitch too.

Arnautovic has supposedly handed in a transfer request because Stoke sold Walters

What? Where did you hear that? I cannot believe that's the reason.

West Ham are sniffing and he wants to head to London would be the more closer to the truth I think

Nice tributes from his Stoke teammates.

He has to be the most (only) likable Tory.

Paul Merson said Walters is the Premier League signing of the summer on The Debate.

About the only sensible thing he's ever said!

Great interview! It revealed 2 very important things:

1) Big Jon loves playing for Ireland
2) Big Jon absolutely loves Robert Huth
"Sometimes, sh*t happens, someone's gotta deal with it, and who ya gonna call?"

Great servant for Ireland. It's a pity he is 34 and near the end of his career.

If he scored more goals he would get more recognition.

He has scored 37 goals in the last 6 EPL seasons.
Long has 41 in the same period.
