I’ve not been Egan’s biggest fan in the past, but hopefully he can take to the Premier League in similar fashion to Duffy.

They’re both very similar players I think.

As a complete aside, fair play to him for sticking with football and getting himself to the Premier League rather than playing Gah for the parish.

Seems like a level headed fella. Realistically he should have a few more caps under his belt but I'm sure his time will come when Keogh moves aside.

He is a starting premier league player who never gets a game for Ireland so perhaps Mick is trying to keep him happy?

Or maybe he's seen as a potential leader within the squad. You'd swear some posters had access to the goings on within the squad away from match days. Hourihane and Long were the only other potential candidates from that starting XI.
