He is not doiing himself any favours, that's for sure.

People in the know say he is doing good things for the FAI but a lot of decisions have been cowardly to say the least

Dont think Delaney is the main problem an excellent admin man and as somebody involved with school boy football he is delivering, just should not be allowed in selection process for new international manager

They FAI earnt about 40million last year much of it atributable to Delaney's revamping. But his distancing from the appointment has been cringe worthy and unfair on Stanley...

Sorry, but that's hogwash.

The majority of the sponsorships, apart from Ford were already in place and agreed before Delaney got the job.

Doubling up of tickets began before he got the job and gate receipts now account for more than 33% of income. The move to Croke Park saw above inflation rises in the cost of tickets, from in my case €30 to €50.

Cringeworthy? It's a hell of a lot more than that and it seems he is not getting away with his Pontius Pilate impression with at least 4 board members incensed at the hand washing, particularly as they only rubber stamped the selection sub committee's candidate. BTW, what other candidates were interviewed?

Do you recall RTE camera's in Birmingham Airport filming Stan before others had been due to be interviewed?

Yeah, a really confidential and transparent process.

J.D has to take FULL responsibility for Stanley. He put him there ,whatever he may think himself or try to portray on the news. They're business partners and it was a real " jobs for the boys" that went horriblly wrong. J.D's head "that may I say is in desperate need of a good razor.F**K me... you aint the fifth beetle john.." should roll first.

I dont give a s**t how much money he has made for the fai, that aint gonna get me to see my country in the euro's next year.

che , what business are they involved in together ? i also heard that STAn needed the bread as he was gettign divorced and it was a bit messy for him so it was handy when the FAI came calling
The first time the Devil made me do it. The second time I did it on my own.

Delaney is a powermonger. The buck stops with him and I agree with Soccerc on this one, Fran Rooney didn't last pissin time in the Fai because of Delaneys little tantrums. There was a story of how a position within the fai was to be adverstised  externally as well as internally, but Delaney already had someone in mind for the job... hence the departure of Fran, who was a fan and had fans interests at heart. Fran tried to get a better atmosphere into the matches... with the Eircom league boys gettin their own section.

Such a similar singing section for die hard supporters would be fantastic for the new Lansdowne but is there any point in even trying to campaign for one??

No, they, the FAI won't countenance it.

Imagine 1000 fans of the same views and feelings massed in one place together.

It would have been interesting last Wednesday, No?

alright brianie, seemingly they have been close mates for the past 20 years, a waterford lad i know is very close to the wheeling and dealings of the delaney familey, delaney and stan have some fu*cked up name for the company that they use to purchase propertys but at the same time keeps them out of the public eye, there was a big right up about it in the Irish indo just be for stan got appointed .
