One shower of corrupt bastards stepping in to run the association of another shower of corrupt bastards.

It's like giving Gary Glitter the keys to the Neverland Ranch and asking him to run Michael Jackson's slumber parties!

I did suggest the GAA take over and got rightly sl*gged off for it. Or the IFA and same same, but I actually trust them more than I do the FAI reforming themselves over the long term. 2 associations with a dislike for football in the republic, could actually do a better job of running it than the FAI themselves. Just think of that.

However with jobs on the line maybe its better UEFA step in

Why would the GAA or the IRFU even consider that? They don't care about the FAI and want their brands associated with that rotten organisation as little as possible. Both are organisations run correctly with the top dog in each getting very moderate salaries compared to the top dog in the FAI. Which ultimately means a lot more money going to grass routes over the years.

I was just pointing out the sheer irony

Virgin media news had a clip of Shane Ross on camera earlier basically saying he didn't know why SIPTU had come out with the statement yesterday as it wasn't his understanding of the situation. Won't be meeting them as it wouldn't be correct given the current investigations and reports due before the agm

What type of salary does the top dog in the GAA get? I didn’t think that sort of information was public knowledge.

The GAA are undoubtedly a more professional organisation than the FAI (that wouldn’t be hard) and know how to generate a large income, but I’m not sure they have the level of integrity or transparency that some might perceive them to have.

You get paid your previous wage and typical GAA they are usually a teacher or principle. There was one fella from cork who was high up in GAA and they were paying him 200k I think which I don't agree with. It's a good system but they should put a 100k limit. Most would be under it anyway but still. The IRFU would pay more but they are so well run. Putting the FAI to shame.

That’s the payment for the president of the Gaa and it’s usually paid to the president’s employer so as not to effect his employment for his time as president.

The ceo of the gaa  Tom Ryan earns around €125,000.

To try to equate what is happening (and has previously happened) at CEO level in the FAI with the GAA is seriously delusional.
Since the scandal with Delaney Senior ticket touting at USA 94 2 FAI Chief execs have resigned due to abuse of the FAI credit card.
Now we have Delaney Junior.
Name even 1 similar instance in either the GAA or IRFU.

People thinking the GAA are a good example f**king hell LOL Look as far as your own county and I'd be shocked if they were in any way transparent.

Football has gone through an unprecedented, and pretty much uninterrupted, boom over the last 25 years with money pouring in from all angles.. Lots of fans even lament the over commercialization of the game."It's too corporate these days",  "players and clubs are out of touch and don't relate to the fans."

Fair play to the FAI for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory against all the odds in this sense. Except for the boys at the top tables lifestyle, there's fook all glam about Irish football. We will eventually be handing over control of the stadium which looks like it could bankrupt the association, we have outsourced player production to the UK for the past 50 years, and the LOI appears to bank roll the FAI rather than the other way around. So it's all been pissed away.
