Another day, another statement LOL

The FAI has offered to bring forward their meeting with the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport by a week.

The meeting, which was postponed twice previously, had been scheduled for 10 April but members had hinted that an earlier date might be more suitable to discuss the matters arising around FAI governance.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the Association confirmed on offer in writing to meet on 3 April instead and "the FAI awaits the Committee’s response".

Very nice gesture from JDFAI.  Now the Oireachtas Committee members will be free to go to the drinks reception and dinner and Under 17 Euro draw the following evening. Big smile

Fair dues to him.  In fairness Noel is a major supporter.  He goes to a lot of away games and has a massive grasp and interest in the workings of the FAI.  Roll on Sunday.  Hopefully a comprehensive win on Saturday evening and we have Sunday with the next piece on our dear leader in The Sunday Times.

Noel Rock has the bit between his teeth on this.

For anyone thinking that he is untouchable within the football family, what this week shows us is the FAI are highly indebted to sports ireland money and if that was cut then I reckon it would be a different story altogether.

It’s not just sport ireland money there is other grant aid from government depts and local authorities. The Fai’s Various programmes wouldn’t be able to continue withou t this funding.

This is correct. My daughter was on an Emerging Talent Programme with them and when queried with them when the next one is they said it was down to funding and if they can get a grant to run another 10 weeks. It is ridiculous that they have to rely on outside funds to help develop young players.

Do we have an approx breakdown of where the FAI's annual revenues come from between sponsorship, ticket sales, domestic grants, UEFA grants and tv money etc?

All this is freely available at the AGM each year.  The only problem is I don't think you are allowed to ask a question.  You are allowed to make statements of endearment about the Leader such as the best one a few years ago from the floor that"John Delaney is the best signing the FAI ever made"

Yes, it would be great to see a breakdown as opposed to many things lumped in together.

What I would really love is an itemised breakdown of certain senior peoples expenses and other consultancy fee's. They would never allow that to happen.
