In Joseph's defence, he hasn't had a bet for a while now..........then again it was difficult for him to place a bet from the confines of Broonie's pocket....

Barton's statement

Pretty much like Shedite says the game is run by betting companies
It is a very decent statement and it is hard to argue with a lot of the points he made, the bottom line is that he knew what he was doing and the rules he was breaking, especially on games involving his own team. I really do think that he actually got off lightly.

He does state he didn't play in any of games he bet on involving his own team, which of course without looking up the lineups of those matches he has listed at the bottom you'd have to take his word for it.

I definitely think it is something the FA do have to crack down on in regards to football.

Barton evens state he had a gambling addiction and nothing much was done about it from a FA perspective.

unfortunate typo

Odds were stacked against him from flagfall. I wager he's paid a huge price for this, surely the financial handicap will weigh heavily on him. Might even be saddled with debt on account of this.

He put £500 on Newcastle to beat Stevenage, he started the game and they lost LOL

Another bet was for himself to be first goalscorer

Joey Barton's suspension from football for breaching betting rules has been reduced by almost five months after an appeal.

The ban now expires on 1 June 2018, instead of 25 October 2018.

The odds on that.

Talk shiote have apologised for Barton's comments about Bill Kenwright admiting that remarks about  BK and the attempts of Everton to sign a new striker were untrue.
