It's funny how we interpret what we see.

I would've thought Hendrick's work off the ball goes unnoticed by fans who think he should be scoring goals and setting up chances like Xavi.

His athleticism, engine and workrate are very important against teams like Portugal and Serbia.

That's it too. He's doesn't score goals and sets up hardly any chances either.

Tet's stats on passes in the SK thread reveals that he doesn't deliver in this part of his game either.

I compiled the passing stats from the three qualifiers here: https://twitter.com/irish_abroad/status/1435913083046842375
Not sure what point you're trying to make?
his passing stats are pretty good
No key passes over these games. Only two goals in 64 games. For a lad that does little marking or tracking back, he's equally not delivering for the fans who think he should be scoring goals and setting up chances like Xavi.(in reply to the OP)

I wouldn't hound him for that. The team in general were bad at making key passes, nobody made more than three

Japhet Tanganga got sent off today for Spurs. Is he the regular right-back?
I know he can play a few positions.
Anyway, if he is a right-back it'll give Jeff a chancefor a bit.

Diogo Dalot on the bench for Utd today also. Surely Hendrick can make that position his own now.

Oops! I was thinking Matt Doherty but wrote Hendrick. In my defence it was a long night...
