He completed 2 full seasons before picking up a serious injury. That's good by Irish standards.

Ah man that's tough news to take, the injury may not be that serious, but Knight might be the one young player who seems to have a good attitude, a good touch, good enough athleticism, might make a decent box to box player, and was like a week of sunshine in an Irish summer. The bad weather is back!

Oof Rooney not having the best week
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

One of 7 outfield players signed and Rooney puts him out for 2-3 months.

I can't see Rooney having a lot of time at Derby, not exactly someone to lead by example let alone someone seen with managerial tactical knowledge.

I can't say having him as manager is something that will benefit knights career either. Knight is a good young player that will need good direction at this point in his career, I dont know how Rooney is as a manager but I can't see him that person to provide that direction.

As much stick hes getting for injuring him that could have been any player. Rooney has been involved in training all along clearly so just a pure unhappy accident I wouldn’t give Rooney too much stick for that. Unfortunate for Knight and an Irish perspective of course but that’s the sport they play it happens.

“Up to 12 weeks” I have seen 6-12 weeks,8 weeks reported. Ankle injuries can be fickle so who knows how long Knight will be out for. Season doesn’t start for another few weeks anyways so hopefully he won’t miss too many games.

At this point it's a race as to whether he'll be fit for the October International window.
A shame as he has catapulted himself very close to being an automatic starter.

Bit of a disaster for us really with 3 games in the space of a week in September. Whatever about Portugal away we'd need a full deck for the two home games to have any chance. And with the 3 games in succession we will need all our players. I just hope there are no more injuries. Kenny must be wondering if he's cursed.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

It’s two weeks or Saturday week. I had thought it was wk/nd 14th myself.

Shay Given has left now. Appears to be financial problems yet again. The club is in one unholy mess.

They're fooked and have been for sometime .....not unlike Sheffield Wed, can see 1 or both disappear down a hole before long which would be a shame both have always been decent sized clubs
