I highly doubt hes not up to standard. Highly

To be fair, I've never seen anything of mcgrath to suggest he's a good player, he had an OK game against Portugal but that's was it. Green tinted glasses off I'd say Ronan, Coventry and browne are unlikely to make any impact in the premier league.

What does that to do with McGrath? Sounds to me like you're simply a glass half empty sort, we've plenty of them already.

That's probably fair enough, and I hope to be proved wrong. I still feel that midfield is an area we're struggling to find quality in.

Gk and defence has seen some real quality come through.

How closely have you ever watched him then to come to the conclusion hes not even a good player? It was obvious at Pats and Dundalk he had quality. He then had a great spell at St Mirren. Hes been very good when he has played under Kenny also. This Wigan scenario seems a bit strange as he has never had much of a look in atal looking at it from the outside. So unless my eyes deceive me i can make an educated guess that its not that he isnt up to it at Wigan. Their loss is Dundee's and Ireland gain as i expect to see him back in the squad soon.

The Dundee manager seems to be very happy anyway.

Lets see what he does from here, you would like to see him really starring for this Dundee team. They are in Europe this season too so Nice for him to get a taste of that.

That's if they win against AZ Alkmaar. Would assume he's signed too late to be registered for this qualifying round. They play the first leg tomorrow.

A lot of his goals came from set pieces and penalties. I remember all the headlines that month made it seem like he was scoring worldies every week, when that wasn't the case. Maybe his general play was overstated and they got buyer's remorse after buying him. I can only speculate; personally I think his performances for us showed versatility and more than one dimension to his game.

Wigan becoming a graveyard for that kind of player. Jack Byrne was brought in under Warren Joyce and completely ignored several weeks later when he got sacked.

Are ye not the same person? LOL

An assist two minutes into his debut against AZ Alkmaar.

Well done to him. He'll have another excellent season in Scotland no doubt. Such a shame he wasn't signed in January by a team that actually intended to play him.

Penny for James McCleans thoughts right now, he was the one who talked McGrath into joining Wigan.

I'm sure McClean didn't have to twist his hand when Wigan offered him more money than other clubs.
