I'm pro McLain as the kids call him but he must be a bit part player if he's allowed go on tele the night before a game or maybe I'm too harsh on modern management.

Better than being on the piss. He'll just get an early morning flight over, hardly a big deal.
We're decent enough..

Legend and I dont use the word lightly. His highlighting of the autism spectrum issue has been inspirational for many and as for the piece hereunder, never a truer word spoken.

"I knew when I took the stance, there was going to be consequences… I grew up as a young lad in Derry with my beliefs, just because I became a footballer in England, doesn’t mean I’m going to change them.

"It's quite funny, actually, because, there's two sides to that history but, over there [in England], there is an arrogance and ignorance, where they are taught one side of history. They speak about the I.R.A, and this and that, as terrorists. We look upon the British army as terrorists, as well, because of what they inflicted in my home city, and throughout the north of Ireland."

"They see themselves as quite arrogant and superior to us," he added. "That has been the frustration for me. I understand their belief but I don’t go around trying to push my beliefs on them."

I'd imagine he was booked as a guest quite some time ago (at least 6 weeks ago) and he got the club's permission then (or since, if he wasnt with Wrexham then). I'm sure Wrexham werent going to cancel his contract because he agreed to do an interview on his national broadcaster weeks ago!

James to retire after the NZ friendly - Thoughts and prayers with Horsebox!

Seriously though, I'm glad he gets to go out on his terms and will get a fantastic reception at that game.

Good man James, gave me some of my best memories supporting Ireland away with his winners against Wales and Austria.

I think what supporters want are players who are really committed to the shirt. No one has been more committed than this lad. Also a guy who is authentic with integrity, not just a PR object out for himself. Top bloke, does Derry proud!
