Assist of an assist! My favourite Clap

Sometimes the assist of the assist is more integral to a goal, than the assist itself.

The amount of times the assist of the assist is the defence splitting ball to the player who just puts the assist on a plate for the goalscorer.

More to a goal than whoever touched the ball last before the goalscorer. The idea that some assists deserve the term "assist" is often hilarious.

However banjaxed... however! You fail to mention the importance of the assist to the assisting assist. Which for me holds even more importance the the goal itself

Think they're looking to take on temporary staff for the Christmas period at the warehouse in Strabane, alright

Short enough commute from the Creggan so he should be in for it

Everyone knows the assist to the assisting assist means nothing. I'll die on the "assisting an assist" hill.

The most James McClean goal you'll ever see. 80 yard hoof down the middle from the keeper and McClean knocks it past the keeper.

Martin O'Neill would be creaming himself over it if he was still in charge.

Another match winning goal by McClean, stepping up the plate and delivering as usual .

A very composed finished from McClean, but awful defending from Rotherham, of what was a simple punt down the field from the goalkeeper.

Energetic, hard working and direct as always. Exactly what we've come to expect from him.

However when Stoke are struggling he fails to hold possession for the team and almost always tries low percentage plays - long shots, hit and hope crosses and so on.

A bit like Duffy you get what you get with James - 100% effort and commitment game after game and he pops up with a goal now and again. It's just a question of whether that alone is enough anymore for any team that wants to play a patient game and keep the ball.

Some bromance you have there horsebox...

However we've all seen mcclean play 100 times and we know he's not Messi.

He's a hard working limited player but if he's putting in a shift again he may be a good option for ireland
