Refused to confirm he was running in GE.  I suspect he is standing down.  Will have no problem finding a job for himself.

What's the second EU referendum?

Coveney and all the lads are joining Aontu.

He's playing hard ball, he'll run alright and it will be either him or Donohue that will lead the party and clean up the bloodbath in FG after the next election, both of which are much better options than the weasel Harris

I don’t agree.  I suspect he will stand aside and move to the private sector.

To ratify membership of the unified patents court. Any litigation on patents will be heard here and it'll save having to run a court case in every EU member state to defend your patent rights.

Only reason a ref is needed is art 29 as we are transferring where the litigation will be held from Ireland to an international court.

It should pass without any hassle given the clear value to Irish businesses but who knows any more? I'm sure the Irelandisfull w**kers will have some bullsh*t around it.

You can be sure people will vote no just for the sake of it.

Like I said I’d be very surprised and it’d be a loss to the Dáil if so

Sorry I thought there was a second referendum as well as that one.

No surprise here given MSM are basically government lapdogs already it's the perfect breading ground for future government positions.

Media should be banned from entering government positions for at least 12 months after leaving their positions. Not good for democracy.

This is the same guy who deleted messages about getting his pal a job to save space on his phone, like it's 1996 again. The same phone that he claimed was hacked, yet it was never reported to the Gardai and he continued to use said phone. The Dáil will be grand without him

His wealth too is money belong to his father. That money that was hiding out in the Cayman Islands.

Strange how people from wealthy backgrounds are attracted to politics. I’d just take off somewhere in the family yacht myself. That said, Coveney was surely a much better option than Harris for the FG leadership. When he was Tanaiste, he impressed a lot of politicians and senior civil servants in the north with his grasp of detail in the Brexit negotiations and put in a lot of work with Julian Smith, the only Tory Secretary of State I can think of who was ever any good or even genuinely interested, in cobbling together a deal to restore devolution at the time. I have no idea what Coveney is going to do next but I suspect it will be a job in the EU or the private sector. I am no fan of FG but it’s their loss.

Auld Finny O'Toole has an article today in the Blueshirt Times stating what's next for Ireland Centre Right Party. imagine we had people in the thread stating last week FG were too left wing LOL

My point with regards to Coveney is that in my view he is the best version of FG which I suppose says as much about the standard of parliamentarians in FG as anything else

I’d rather deal with a FG steered towards Coveney-style politics than where they went under Varadkar and where they could go now under Harris and Donohoe if it ends up being him after that

In terms of refugees they are definitely not right wing. And that's the most relevant issue in the country lately.

if you think immigration is going to be the most important thing on the lips of working and middle class people at the next local and general elections then you may take you're head out of the sand. The latest ERSI report suggests that.
