It's the taking part that counts. Just qualify.

Then it's win or lose, we're on the booze. The Irish way.

No wonder we're sh*te.

The way I see it is this. The media turn on 'outsiders' Be it Jack, Mick, Trap, MON etc.. ''they held us back''

But when one of our own is in charge in Stephen Kenny he gets a free pass despite being absolutely useless in the job.

We don;t like outsiders here in Carrickthomond.

This womens team were an absolute shambles a few years ago and now Paddy is pissed off because they didnt get out of the group.
Giles, Stan and particularly Hand got crucified by the Irish press....

She’s not devoid of criticism. People have wanted Kenny’s head on a spike in the past for his atrocious use of substitutions. Pauw not making changes until the 83rd minute was as poor today. I have largely defended her but hard to justify that nonsense today.

That’s not to say she hasn’t been a positive for us. She has improved us and got us to a World Cup overachieving in the process. We played very well against Canada and it was an opportunity missed.

Id like her to stay on for this reason but it’s a million the way the landscape is currently looking.

They were 3 decent performances.  She's done a great job.   Sure if she did a MON on it and made a few kamakaze subs and went all out for a win and lost you lot would have sl*gged her off.

People don’t want to face reality but Pauw isn’t overly liked within football.

Yes she absolutely deserves praise for getting us to the tournament but the players do also. And it looks like she’s lost those players, McCabe roaring at the bench today, others refusing to back her pre game.

She’s not liked at all in the women’s LOI, she has a massive cloud over her from the accusations in America and she’s uber defensive as a manager.

Let he be the manager so and see how they get on.LOL

You dont need to be popular with players.  Half the team hated Fergie and Benitez and various other top managers.

Its not a happy clappy lets give everyone a game club.

Jack was beloved by the vast majority of the Irish media for about 10 years. It was 1995 before they turned on him and it was unquestionably time for him to go by the time the Dutch beat us in Anfield.
Mick was never considered an outsider given his service as a player.

Apparently McCabe forcefully told Pauw to whip off Farrelly. Regardless of what your opinion of Pauw is, that's awful behaviour from a senior player and captain of the team, singling out one of your teammates like that.

And the media are literally just reporting what’s happening. People who haven’t a clue what’s going on then tell us the media has turned on her

Agreed it is poor form. But it’s a clear example of there being no respect. As TJ says you don’t have to like your manager but you do need to respect them. Ferguson & Benitez always had respect.

McCabe starting to stray into the Roy Keane mindset of 'I'm too good for the rest of these'. Thought it was very stupid of her to try have a pop again from a courier near the end

Katie McCabe.  She seems to know it all.

Its poor from McCabe in fairness, but I’d be very surprised if any player ever spoke like that to Benitez, never mind Ferguson.

If Pauw stays on, it’ll end like it did with Trap after 2012. It couldn’t be clearer that she’s lost the squad. Probably best to go out on what can be considered a success.

Katie McCabe.  She seems to know it all.
she obviously doesn’t rate Vera. Odd. Be interesting to know what exactly the players have an issue with. If it’s her personality and style as a coach then I think it’s a bit unprofessional tbh.

Amazing how everyone has taken Pauws word for it.

One of two things.  Either she didn’t say it and pauw is lying or she did say it and Pauw has basically told the whole world of what McCabe thinks of her new teammate.  Shocking management either way.  Time to go.
