Hopefully that girls have it in them to put on a performance and get something from this. It would be nice to bow out with some points on the board.

my biggest fear is that the girls know its Pauw's last game. They may go out and play the way they want to play.

Amazing how they could take tactics into their own hands and beat France but went back to obeying orders v Spain, Croatia and Italy. Hmm

Players going for Individual glory instead of playing for the team could see us well beaten.

Players going for Individual glory instead of playing for the team could see us well beaten. Saw some of that against Canada when Katie McCabe blasted over the bar on 82 minutes instead of slipping the ball to a perfectly positioned Amber Barrett.

This could be the toughest game. Australia and Canada put in plodding performances against us, but Nigeria have the ability to play an exciting, attacking, high tempo game.
Even in the 100th minute of their last match, when 3-1 against Australia, they continued to pour players forward. The mentality seems to be completely different to the Irish approach, and it has paid dividends. Probably need Nigeria to play within themselves, feeling the pressure of qualification, for Ireland to get a result.

Yeah it's tough one to predict for multiple reasons. I think we should easily put it up to them and realistically have the potential to get a result.
There should be a strong Irish following at Suncorp stadium later. There were probably a couple of thousand yesterday alone for a mini fan meet up where Katie and Vera spoke to the crowd for around 10-15 mins. Regardless of the fact we're out, there is still a lot of excitement around the place here. Brisbane is seen as their home given they've been based here. I'd be pretty devastated if Ireland and Australia both go out later this evening but that could easily happen unless Kerr gets back and starts scoring for the Aussies as they have been woeful.

With Australia winning maybe Nigeria will be happy with the draw.
Ireland have had a few chances, but don't seem to have the finishing quality.

Ireland doing alright but not penetrating the opposition in the final third, sounds awfully familiar!
Nigeria will be happy to see out the game and get a draw I would imagine.

McCabe has been dribbled past 7 times during the last 135 mins of action.
Trent Alexander-Arnold would be proud of those defensive stats. |

They'd be mad to settle for a draw as it means playing England in the next round. |
