Also any street traders that sell Vuvuzelas outside the ground to kids should be shot on the spot and their parents who buy them also. Absolute painful to listen to and killed any chance of creating an atmosphere at the game. Turkish game had a decent atmosphere.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

Gilsenan had some lovley touches when he came on. Would love to see him Moran and Vata from the start against Latvia.

Three decent players but think Springett needs to be one of the three. He's direct and will do things with pace. Helpful too that he can play on either wing.

They'll surely have a home friendly organised too since it's only one qualifier next month.

I thought Emakhu put in very good performances off the bench in both games also, I wouldnt rule him out. Springett faded badly 2nd half last night. Anyway it's a good problem for the manager to have, but I wouldnt trust Crawford to make the most of the array of attacking talent at his disposal.

Some of our best players at U19 level are also attacking mids/wide players - Kone Doherty, Zefi, Sean Moore. There's also Ebosele who could drop back and the likes of Okoflex who didnt even make the squad.

A couple of final obs.

McJannet made his U21 debut off the bench, congrats to the lad!

The ref was awful and didnt help our cause one iota.

That incident with the throw-in down in the corner was bizarre. LOL

It was clearly an Irish throw, but then he awarded them the throw. I think it's because we took the throw 15 yard further back than it should have been, but he didn't communicate it very well. The players were all confused.

He failed to award some obvious free kicks to us as well. No advantage gained from allowing it to continue.

It was a joke that he switched inverted wingers instead of pushing Sam Curtis up with 2 sitting midfielders and that much possession. The sh*t he does drives me f**king mental. So rigid even against San Marino. I can't criticise any of the players really bar Furlong who was just bad on his own.

We fired at the start but they adjusted to get numbers out wide to make it harder for our wingers and Crawford thought just switiching Vata and Springett would get gains. I want wingers inverted in that spot like and Curtis bombing. He did it after the subs on the right and we just opened them up at will late on right but you need that being the first option. Not the last option late on. I don't blame the players for not firing when they are hamstrung by the most ridiculously cautious manager in a never going to lose situation I have ever seen.

I don't mind him sticking with 2 holders here because you will be playing this way. But you have to coach players to be aggressive when dominating and what plans would be dominating good teams. If the oppositions make adjustemnts and get back on top you can adjust again. It is like he has one plan to play or it takes 30mins of careful thought to make adjustments
No matter what we will always have a tight game under Crawford even when dominant.

He should have gone after Israel and everyone knows it. He got a media bump for a playoff game and the fact it would have been our first time. Look at the players he has been wasting like including Evan.

Infuriating!

Tbf I thought Furlong improved greatly in the second half and it was his first game of the season at any level. I actually thought Abankwah (and tbf it was his first game of the season also) had a very poor 90 minutes, he looked miles off it.

I didn't know it was his first game of the season so that would explain why he looked miles off it.
I didn't notice Abankwah too much bar a few times he overplayed and gave the ball up deep but with games in him that might end up being my favorite thing about him. The 21's have mostly been a miserable watch and it is annoying because interest in u21's has probably never been higher.

Ollie O'Neill has responded well to being omitted from the last U21 squad, 2 goals in 2 games in the PL2 and another in the EFL Trophy tonight. Lots of competition in the attacking areas for the U21s with Okoflex (also omitted last time) scoring his first goal for FC Zurich at the weekend too.

Good weekend for some of the u21s Strikers/Wingers.

Dara Costelloe scored his first goal in Scotland.
Okoflex scores first league goal in Switzerland.
Sinclair Armstrong assist for QPR.
Andrew Moran midweek 4 goal involvements plus a good showing again today against Leicster.

A selection headache for Crawford - None of Costelloe, Okoflex or Ollie O'Neill made the last squad. Callum Kavanagh is another lad in very good form in PL2.

I wonder if Parrott and/or Omobamidele will be considered for the U21 squad this time around?
