Be interesting to get a statistic on this but I would bet that amongst the top 25 nations in Europe Ireland has conceded the most goals in competitive games in the last 5 mins of the match.  I dont remember England conceding late on (maybe Croatia 2007) where as we seem to chuck it away routinely. In my lifetime:

Poland 1991 (think we conceded late)
Macedonia 1999
Holland 2000
Switzerland 2002
Israel 2005
Slovakia 2007
Wales 2007
Italy 2009
France 2009 (away??)
Austria 2013

I think there's more but just did that list off the top of my head.

I cant be bothered looking for it!

Georgia away in 2008 is another. We were 2-0 up thankfully before we conceded in the 90th minute.

What about scoring in the last couple of minutes, 2 famous goals were in Japan and Korea, both scored by the real Keano in the 92th n 90th minutes from memory against Germany and Spain.

In the early days with Mick in charge we conceded several last minute goals, notably Croatia and Macedonia.
I know nothing :-)

Keane's 2 at the world cup, S.Ireland's against san Marino, St.Ledger v Italy, Keane v Italy(83rd), many more we have a good record of scoring in the last few minutes

Every team in history concedes late goals that deprive them of a crucial win/draw lads, meaningless thread really.
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....

That's just your opinion. A lot of threads on here could be called meaningless (and in fairness, most of Trap Junior's threads could be called meaningless!) but its just a thread about when Ireland have conceded late goals in the past. A lot more meaningless threads on this forum at the moment.

What do you think was the worst?

I think the Israel away game possibly, considering we may have topped the group had we won it.

Austria is still the most fresh and painful one for me.

see your judging that with the benefit of hinsight. The only way to compare what was the worst was to compare that sick feeling you got after each of them.

Macedonia would be hard to beat when it comes to the devestation caused by that late goal.

Slovakia away was very deflating, as we still had a chance if we hadn't conceded. Havent been at the others so hard to tell but Macedonia had to have been the worst.

Italy home wasnt really because it made little difference to our group position. Wed have been relying on Italy dropping points at home to Cyprus (IIRC). You knew it was coming against Austria so was more or less prepared.

BTW we have let some amount of leads slip over the last decade.
