Anyone on here suffer from this?
have been really bad of late would say I've got about 5 hours sleep over the whole Xmas period.

Any tips other than sleeping pills which might help.

P.s. if there is a thread on this already I'm sorry I ironically don't have time to search through pages of topics.

Hot chocolate before bed does the trick for me when I'm having trouble sleeping. The warm milk will make ya nice and doesy.

Yeah chamomile tea worked for me. Whether it was a placebo or not i dunno. Also, may sound stupid but it works - if you have a few worries in your head whilst falling asleep just try to visualise them all being put into a balloon and the balloon floating away. Remember doing a course on time management and this came up i.e. people struggling to manage time because they are starved of sleep.

Worked for me on occasion.

I suffer from this from time to time. Went 2 nights straight without sleeping. There is nothing you can do really. What I would advise is to get up - get some fresh air and clear your head and try and go back to sleep. It might take an hour or 2 but at least you will get some z's.

I can go weeks without actually sleeping. It's the worst feeling in the world, it's like being badly hungover ever day and it gets worse by the day.

I usually fall asleep within 5 minutes of going to bed and sleep all night.  Occasionally I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get to sleep for half an hour or so.  Next day I am bolloxed so I just can't imagine what it is like for lads who really suffer from insomnia.  You have my sympathy.

Used to suffer from this. Looked into it on the web and don't suffer from it now. Regular exercise, no caffeine or food close to bedtime, keep all iPhones and TVs out of the room and keep a note book beside ye if you have thoughts of anything that's bugging you and note it down. I also found reading a book or throwing the leg over the qwear wan also handy.

Used to suffer from this not badly, just 3-4 nights a week would take me a few hours sleep, had acupuncture done for something else, first thing yer man says was you don't have great sleep do you, I'll sort that. Needless to say I was completely cynical

That night thinking about the big claim earlier in the day, fell asleep in 20 minutes. Sleep has been be good ever since. That was over 4 years ago.

Subsequently a friend has  taken up doing acupuncture and I asked him about the sleep and he says loads of his patients say the same that their sleep is great.

Watching tv or anything like that in bed is terrible for disrupting sleep patterns. Have never had a tv in my room and my sleep patterns would be a lot better than my mates that do have one. Would recommend reading before bed, generally nod off after 20 minutes.

Have heard great things about acupuncture for sleep before, would get it done if I ever had problems with it.
