Do you mean you’d pay her back what she paid in, but you’d keep/stay in the house?
Is she paying less because she’s earning less?
I’d imagine if it went pear shaped it would be a 50/50 split.

Any help is fantastic.

Hi Steve.  Not trying to tell you your business as its already in place but I'm not sure getting a mortgage out with a girlfriend is that wise.  I can only imagine it being a mess if you two split up down the road. Her dad doesn't sound like a swell guy either tbh.  You are doing everything it seems yet he wants her to get half of everything if it goes tits up.  He should have coughed up some cash as well if he had any decency.

That's my opinion. Not that I am an expert or anything.

If she is on your side here, she'll just tell her Dad that you have both boxed that off legally. If she is not prepared to do that, then I'd wonder how much of the pressure/paranoia is actually coming from the father.

I'm pretty sure you will be both on the deeds as joint owners, unless explicitly called out differently, so legally, she'd be entitled to half, unless you successfully challenged otherwise.

Families and in-laws are great! Angry

Nah just mine. Mortgage is fully in my name, we where paying just under £1000 in rent and I was paying 2/3 of it. The idea was to keep the same idea but buying meant more sense as it was ours, this idea only came up when her dad appeared.

Then tell her Dad to f**k off!

I don’t see eye to eye with the family, they say a lot and offer f**k all. This was their latest opinion.

Something similar happened a friend of mine and it was a sh*t show. An agreement should be in place but the agreement should be in your favour towards the deposit you paid but not necessary if she isn't on the deeds.

If you have an agreement and something happens she can make you sell
If she's not on the deeds she is screwed if it did go tits up. And once you marry she's entitled to 50% anyway.

Keep as is as you have way more to lose than her
