The Blackfriars is a lovely pub. Unfortunately it's a Nicholson's, but itbis absolutely stunning inside and not too bad outside either. Not that you could have got it in.

I know they used to do Stella but got rid of itCry , tend to avoid them now though given that pubs seemed to have been open about 2 weeks in the past 12 months its hardly a surprise

If you're in the area again  it is worth calling in. It was a friary until the early 19th century,  as the name would suggest.

They were breaking the law if they were, and I doubt Nicholson's would be taking that risk.
