Alrite then it seems everyones agreed that Don Givens needs to go, but who should be the new manager?

Steve Heighway - did a decent job with the liverpool youths

Brian Kerr? Stephen Kenny? John Sheridan? Liam Brady? John Aldridge?

Chris Hughton - one of the most qualified coaches in europe is my vote

Givens has done nothing - a few years back in cyprus he sat on his arse on a deck chair whilst we were losing - did nothing in that game to get the lads going

Givens is a sham - just ask any of the players that have played under him. he needs to go. that team will finish bottom of the group bar a miracle. in fairness we dont have the players at that level but we can be doing much better than we are right now.

We dont have the players? i for one think we have the best under 21 team we'v had in a long time. Stokes, O'Dea, O'Halloran, Garvan, Quinn, Clarke, Rooney, O'Brien, Nolan. All decent players who will be challenging for the senior squad in a few years time, its just unfortunate that they got drawn into such a tough group.

Fair enough engpad, we do have 5 or 6 decent players. however in comparison to other european sides, especially in our group, we arent strong enough. we have a decent spine to the present side but i just feel that the rest of the lads that may only be in and out of a their reserve side or playing league 1 or scottish first division arent up to the standard.
not taking anything away from the lads for committment at all but i just feel we're lacking quality in depth.

Kerr is a great shout Roger considering he's been a miracle worker at under age international level but i reckon the fai wouldnt have him back on board. in my opinion kerr doesnt get the recognition he deserves for what he has done at youth level.
Heighway is defo another great shout but would he be interested? actually would the fai have the brain power to go for someone like him - i think not
