hi everyone

I have toyed with the idea of setting up a meetup group for attending LOI matches, particularly around the dublin area.

For those of you not aware of what meetup is, it is an app you can create an event for anything ( ie go to the cinema, hiking, nights out) and people can sign up and attend for free. I have been using it for years and it is a great way to meet people and try new things. A LOI meetup could be great for:

•people who always wanted to go to a game, but dont want to go alone.( i have met a few people like this)
•people who are new to ireland and want to check out a game
•people who just want to meet new people and socialise
•people passing through dublin and have a evening free
•a great way for clubs to encourage potenial new fans to get involved

In order for me to do this I would need help organising and maintaining the group.  In my experience it is better for the group to have multiple organisers who can share the responsibility and would be done on a non profit voluntary basis

If anyone has any thoughts on it or would like to get involved please let me know.

Regards
Ronan

Likewise good luck with it

Just something to consider.

The likes of Bohs are almost sold out every home game. So while its a cracking night in the bars a bit of planning would have to go into it from your side in terms of getting your hands on tickets. Getting in touch with someone at the club about it ahead of time to find out when theyll put tickets on gerneral sale. The likes of the smaller games with little or no away crowd would be the easiest for yous. Also you want access to the bars as an option.

Im sure lads on here can advise for each particular club etc.

Bohs social media pages have details about when tickets are on general sale. Pats game on the 22nd July went on sale on 1st June, the Dundalk game on 12th Aug are on sale on 4th July for example.
