Five days a week in the office, does that mean at least 5 nights a week in a hotel paid for by the FAI? Since he was given a relocation fee there is no way it's a non issue but he will get some leeway due to COVID
Remote work is perfectly acceptable in most cases but the CEO of a national football association living in a different country is completely laughable and embarrassing.
He's been here over a year now and still no sponsor for the main team which was the priority, so that's a huge failure.
We are 6 weeks away from our Belgium friendly and still no contract sorted for Stephen Kenny and his backroom team, and our assistant manager has left in the meantime.
Old brigade are alive and well within the FAI and nowhere near as many heads rolled as what should have. Things are not looking good at all. |
Whatever about the rights and wrongs of where he lives, and he should be her IMO, the bit in bold has been clarified in the newspaper articles/interviews and subsequently referenced on here. The relocation fee has not be drawn down or touched.

You wouldn't expect that he would move his family over here, especially in shirt term | Do ya think CEO of FAI is a Mon-Fri 9-5? Like 99% of football happens the exact opposite of those times. Means he's not here when there's any football taking place, he'll never see a league game |
He was at one of our games last season, went to a different game the weekend after |
Good to hear

It's just resting in his account.

It sounds like the relocation fee is a pittance compared to what they would be paying for him to travel over and stay in hotels/taxis/overnights. 100 nights on average 300 a day between hotel, taxis, drivers, rental cars, flights will use up that. Are season ticket holders and taxpayers covering his Caesar salads in the Castleknock hotel also?
Delaney was travelling around living a hell of an extravagant life and made friends with the likes of Ceferin. You have to live like them to be with them and egg will be on Barrett et al’s face when he abandons us half way through.
At least he has set goals achievable from the Boardroom for the next four years …

Was at a Treaty game too.
To me the whole location and office thing doesn’t matter.
However, the major points have got to be the dragging out of contract, either give it to him or don’t but what’s taking so long?
Other point is the sponsor. I would have imagined that was his two main priorities.

And thats all fair and I wont or cant argue with that. My point was about the misuse of incorrect information to further a viewpoint. Fact is, that the specific fund for relocation has not been utilised. Whatever other expenses are at play are another issue and absolutely deserve scrutiny.
As, ive said, he should be here and if his family are in England and he wants to go home every Weeknd to visit, the he should do what everyone else has to do and pay for his own flights etc out of his none too shabby wages.

The FAI strategic plan is to take the only money they've got to Vegas and put it all into one spin of Roulette
