Quote Republic of Ireland international Joey O’Brien will not be back in action until April after undergoing minor surgery on a knee injury in America.

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder was operated on by world-renowned specialist Dr Richard Steadman in Colorado to clear out a knee injury.

23-year old O’Brien last appeared last for Bolton Wanderers in October and has struggled with injury problems since.

The three-times capped Dubliner is aiming to return in time for Bolton’s Premier League run-in.
