True.
After two years at Madrid he signed for Brescia in Serie A and was relegated that season but straight up the season after.

Nothing unusual about staying with them in Serie B as a lot of players did this at Juve (Del Piero) and Fiorentina (Batistuta) when they got relegated.

Lovely lad Gheorge he sent us one of his shirts signed when we were raising monies for Patrick O'Connell grave...'I always remember Irish fan Italia '90...' great footballer and a gentleman.

Class player.
He was brilliant in the 94 World Cup.

Played for both Real Madrid (2 years) and Barca (2 years) but never won the league!

Take a look at James Richardson's YouTube channel Jimbovision.  Over the last few days he's been uploading episodes (in full, including the adverts!) of Gazzetta Football Italia:-

Quite a trip down memory lane if you've got the time (and right now, we all do).  Loved those pun-filled press round-ups.

I think this is the weekly highlights programme that RTÉ used to show on a Monday night.

I used to love watching this on Monday nights before Channel 4 started showing live coverage on Sunday afternoons. Clap

A simpler time. When getting to see goals from abroad was a novelty.
Used to love watching Eurogoals on Eurosport as it showed all the different leagues and players you knew from the EC or WC, but could never watch full games off.

In hindsight, it was probably a good thing not to have to watch the full matches LOL

Eurogoals was my favourite thing on television. I had a massive interest in the Dutch league then, it seemed so exotic.
