City on course for a whopping 50 league goals this season, despite usually hitting over 100

Maybe something to do with Silva's absence?

More likely Aguero's absence (imo).

After all, wasn't young Foden lined up to be a ready-made replacement for when DS left? Wink

Most likely a bit of both
They aren’t creating as many chances in games as they used to, or should be doing
Didn’t look like scoring tonight until the two headers late on

You still worried about Foden’s chances of going to the Euros due to how he’s been treated at City?

It's probably to do with the fact they can't finish simple free headers from six yards from outrageous crosses by De Bruyne

I was actually thinking of him watching that last night. 2 years ago Silva/Sane would have been the players to grab that game for City. Every City player last night needed a touch to control and a touch to pass, it played right into WB's hands. Silva in there would have got a few nice 1-2's with KDB and they'd have been through

The two chances in injury time with headers from Gundogan and Sterling after pinpoint balls from De Bruyne didn't tell the whole story of the game.
Yes City had a lot of possession and West Brom were camped in their own box for a lot of the night, but City failed to create much. Don't remember Johnstone having a difficult save to make until those two near the end. Far too slow a tempo for most of the game, players look flat.
De Bruyne had a poor game (again) bar those two crosses at the end

This was mentioned two years ago with Silva’s imminent departure.

Not in the least bit bothered, never mind "worried".

But my original point was that instead of signing a 6 year contract, which left him exactly where PG wanted him (i.e. on hand to use or ignore as suited himself), Foden would have been better advised to sign a much shorter one and if he wasn't getting regular game time at City, demand a loan move for a season or two.

In which latter case, he'd have been a better player today with, say, 75 games at a high level under his belt, than playing a bit part at the Etihad - see eg Mason Mount, loans to Vitesse and Derby and 13 England caps, versus PF's three caps.

David Silva wasn't ruthless enough to be considered a truly great player unlike his uncle Long John

Surely the uncle was too one-footed to be considered a true great?
