Behind the Curtain is a good read, the only negative for me was that there was not enough about football in the GDR. Enjoyed the chapter on Bulgaria the most.

My Grandad (Rangers fan) remembered the great excitement of Spartak Moscow's post war tour of Britain in 1945.

They came to Glasgow to play Rangers at Ibrox. The game was to be strictly ticket only and you could buy them only at Ibrox or at Greave's Sports in the city centre.

He skived off school to buy at ticket at Greaves, he didn't have enough to cover the tram fare to Ibrox, ticket but saw the queue sneaking right round a couple of streets and abandoned the idea.

The game was a foul tempered one and finished 2-2.

His uncles who did get tickets said after the game that Spartak were "bloody cheating bastards" LOL

You'd have to wonder how they managed the away games in the 1930s. Vladivostok to St Peterburg would take a week on a train.

I think us uniting with The Nordies would be synergy in reverse.
