Get shane long, obefemi, o'dowda, browne, robinson back and we have some good options. You have maguire there waiting and arter who can also play in the whelan role. Some decent options and good selection dilemmas. With a bit of belief we can get top two. Its possible.

Good food for thought over the last two games.
1.Not convinced the Doherty/Coleman debate is settled. If only one is to start, naturally at Right Back, it should not automatically be Coleman. 2.Stevens was generally good, but I also wouldn’t close the book on the LB berth. I was concerned by how his wing was exploited at times in the second half tonight. 3.Brady and McClean shouldn’t be in the same team. One is essentially being shoehorned in to suit the other, and generally its McClean getting the left wing slot. 4.A midfielder at the base is essential. Whelan showed that tonight. Sadly, thanks to defection we have lost a natural and long term successor in Rice, and also Meyler does not appear to be in the plans. That means Whelan will be there, but there should be work done to find appropriate alternatives, but for now, if Whelan can keep up the performances, it should be him. 5.Who is the best alternative to MCGoldrick at a point where he has led the line with little respite. We have Collins, Curtis, O’Brien Obafemi, Long, Maguire and Hogan. Apart from Long, I don’t believe there is more than 20 caps and a single goal. There needs to be reliable strength in depth up top.
