Ah the Swiss are a serious side, and I think at home they are particularly strong, Shaqiri is out but Xhaka, Zubber, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Sch%C3%A4r - Schär https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haris_Seferovi%C4%87 - Seferović are all talented players. I think they'll get something

Want to limit as many League C and D teams that get in on the group stage so we have a chance of getting a favorable back door draw. Would be great if the 8 teams (or as close to 8 as possible) above us in League B all directly qualified.

Bosnia are a higher ranked League B team in the Nations League. The more League A and B sides that qualify through the Euro 2020 qualifiers, the better it is for Ireland’s hopes of getting a playoff spot.

What 2 teams from each group do we want to qualify, so as to aid us in getting a playoff if we don’t finish top 2.

Draw is the ideal result for us that. Shows the weaknesses of both sides defensively too, even though they possess far more attacking threat than we do. To blow a three goal lead in five minutes is insanity though.
This Nations League stuff still baffles me. Now we have a 2nd shot through the play-offs? I'll snap your hand off for the chance but it makes a mockery of the whole thing that a team who get relegated from the B League can still theoretically get a playoff.

We won’t have the luxury of that next time when we’re in League C. The last time we got a playoff we finished 3rd in a 6 team group. I actually prefer this system. The teams from the League C and D playoff really earn it. It’ll improve the quality and competiveness of European football in the long run. Albania qualified for Euro 2016. One of Georgia, Belarus, Macedonia and Kosovo will qualify via the League Playoff for Euro 2020. Not much difference in my opinion

I agree. If we were in leagie b on merit finishing bottom should give a route to a playoff otherwise it wouldn’t encourage teams to get promoted. The fact that we were there on it’s first outing makes a bit of a mockery of it but I think it’s a good system moving forward
