The reason he struggled in the Championship was because he wasn't good enough yet. The German league is plenty physical and has a variety of footballing types. He needs to find a team and manager that fits him. Doesn't matter where that is and the Championship is still one of the best leagues in Europe.

Good example is Jonjo Shelvey, a technical genius who moves like a bus. His year in the Championship with Newcastle, he was a total superstar. Levels above everyone technically and it showed. Viktor Gyokeres too, banged in goals for Coventry and is now being linked with the world's best teams after  season in Lisbon.

If he's good enough, the Championship is a great place to be, so is continental Europe. If he's good enough, he'll do well.

No one is saying he is a technical genius..far from it. It's a part of his game he needs to develop & if I had a choice of developing it in the Bundesliga rather than the Championship I'd choose the Bundesliga.

The only one throwing around classic Irish football fan tropes here is you. “Championship is one of the best Leagues in Europe” believe me only Irish fans seem to hold this delusional view they don’t even think that in England. Are Serie B,Bundesliga 2 and the Spanish Segunda among the top Leagues in Europe too? Nonsense.

This is before we even begin to go into how chaotic environments most Championship/English lower League clubs are.

Ireland and NI too have been getting played off the park by Finland,Armenia,Kazakhstan,Slovenia,Luxembourg and Greece etc the last few years and there is a reason for that.  Our players are not playing top level football.

As for Parrott who knows what the future holds but he’s in a better place now than he was 12 months ago off the back of a reasonably decent and very sensible loan move to a League that’s the best in Europe outside the big 5.

Similar standard league to the SPL, two or three "big teams" and the rest very weak.

Parrott at Excelsior and Garcia McNulty at Zwolle are equivalent to playing for St Mirren or Dundee.

Remember how, for example, Jack Byrne (who if fairness never got a fair whack with the national team imo) and Dan Crowley excelled in the Dutch league, only to find their level further down.

Somehow, if they were playing for St Johnstone, I don't think people would be as interested.  Call it "Continental Cache".

We've been through this before - that simply isn't true. The Eredivisie is the 6th ranked league in Europe, just behind France and ahead of Portugal, Belgium, and Turkey. The SPL is in 10th, a significant distance behind on ranking points.
We're decent enough..

To score 7 goals for a team down near the bottom who don't score many or make many chances is better than scoring for the likes of PSV who would create a lot more  chances and score a lot more goals hence the interest from clubs.

All that indicates is that the strongest teams in Holland do better in European competition than the strongest teams in the other countries, doesn't tell us anything about the strength in depth of the leagues

Would have thought performance in Europe would be reflective of the strength of a league in general.

The performances by Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord against British teams the standard of Aston Villa, Celtic and Rangers in recent years would point to a league that is in serious decline.

Goal, Assist and a red.. very eventful return from injury. ConfusedLOL

Nice to see him contributing to goals again, hope he's done enough this season to get a ideally a sale to a higher standard for his development. He's at an age now where he could do with a stable club environment.

Saw what he got sent off for. Harsh is an understatement.

I am now a central part
Of your mind's landscape
Whether you care or do not
