After reading his interview in the indo this morning, he hints that this may be his last campaign.

Although hes not the most gifted, Its just a pity a few others in the team dont show the same whole hearted attitude when playing for us.

This is our f**king country we're talking about - Keano

That's a fair statment erimus I have often been a critic of him but he is a trier to give him credit.

correct erimus, fair play to the lad. Not a bad word to say against him.

Was bullin when he signed for Everton a few years back but was then completely gutted when he left as like you say, not the most gifted player (thats being nice aswell), he always gave it everything and was a loss to the team! Will give him a massive send off if Wales is his last game in the green!

Smashing lad alright, we all know his limitations, very well documented here but the most honest player I can remember in a long time.  Didn't always merit his starting place but always gave it 100% which is all one can ask for.  Still can't believe though how he missed that rebound from Ian Harte's missed peno against Spain the 2002 WC.........
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....

shouldn't "giving 100%" be taken for granted when you pull on the green shirt?

Of course it should kiecarew but this is the day of millionaire footballers, living in mansions driving Bentleys and retiring from International football early to prolong club careers so it isn't the norm anymore sadly.

Kevin Kilbane is a true legend who always gave 100% for country unlike several other players.

I’ll always remember in Paris hearing the fans singing “who needs Zidane, we’ve got Kilbane…!”

He will be truly missed

He'll be missed lads as a committed stalwart, but I won't miss his one trick of tipping past the defender, head down and falling over.  But he does put some of the others to shame in terms of attitude and honesty.  Of course it should be a given to be 100% in terms of effort, but as Duffer rightly says, footballers ain't like that anymore.

Which is a true shame.  Very few ppl get to represent their country in any competition.  Maybe with the right back office motivation and support and leadership, all Irish Footballers will regain that sense of pride and effort that Kilbane and others like him have shown.  He will be missed if this is his last go round.

sorry he hasn't been good enough for a long time..maybe as a left back, just  maybe. That is not a slur on his charcter it's a simple fact..a great squad player but a consistent regular NO.

Like the majority of irish fans I've always been a fan of kilbane; not for his classy skills but for his committment and passion.....you'd nearly believe he's irish!

Can't fault Zizu one bit..what you see is what you get. Actually was playing the best football of his life in Judas' last season for the Toffees about 3 seaons ago. Think he played his best game for Ireland the night we drew nil nil in Paris..will be sad if he retires...also reckon he deserves a testimonial when he does
