Can anyone see Peru actually getting kicked out of this?

The legalities of it all would be some comical viewing if it happened and who got to replace them.

Thanks HC.

Well, they've only themselves to blame if they do get thrown out.  If FIFA do need a replacement team though, well.....we're free next summer. Big smile

Actually, better stop now before I give Delaney ideas.... LOL

The Italians are already on the case CM, you were too late to the party on this one.

Would certainly be very interesting if they were kicked out. Chile and NZ would both have a serious claim to take their place.

But how can you decide legally that both are entitled to a play off when there were other countries who met the criteria for a play off and were beaten. If it was something specific within the play off match where Peru broke the rules then you would have a case for NZ to get their spot, as I said anything else the legal eagles all over the world would be rubbing their hands at in the hope some association challenges a FIFA ruling.

Chile are under investigation for fielding an illegal player against Bolivia (1st game) so that tie would be quite pointless if they end up with a deduction

Have you a link to this?

I do know Bolivia were found guilty of fielding ineligible players against both Peru and Chile?

Italian newspaper Tuttosport report that Italy, as the most successful side that failed to qualify, could be handed the final 2018 World Cup spot if it becomes vacant.
