our route over on sunday is still reasonable. Dublin to Bucharest 0725 (71 euro, Ryanair) and Bucharest to Belgrade 1540 (104 euro, Air Serbia). Not too sure what the routes are like for getting home.

Thanks, spotted that and also spotted another option for similar money going through Budapest. Will book one of them if I can find something coming back but looks like that's going to be the tricky part!

Amsterdam airport are actually very good in allowing people to jump long passport control check-ins (when going between various zones) - so even an hour is still plenty of time. If you only have 45 minutes left by the time you find your gate - just tell security and they will clear you thorough the fast gate

There can sometimes be a decent walk between planes at AMS, but that's plenty of time.

i presume its not a protected layover, security in schipol is usually quick enough however the airport is massive, taking into account that your gate will close 25 minutes before take off it gives you an hour. Id say you will be fine but you wont want to be fcuking around or taking a long sh1te.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

I flew via amsterdam to Bangkok. We just went security again where we were due to board for the next flight. We had boarding cards already though. Will you have the one for the 2nd flight when you leave dublin?
