agree that Dundalk is better for pubs.  Have a soft spot for Dundalk and there is a nice honesty and directness about people from Dundalk.  Limerick has it too.  Working class large towns or small cities like Waterford have it.   Good trades and industry over the years sadly now lost.

Tuam and Naas are poorly laid out if I remember correctly. Naas suffering badly with building closures and vacancies.

So many Irish towns packed with abandoned, decrepit buildings, and a lot of the occupied ones are fair grotty.

I've a friend from Craptown. Always like going there, like you say the people are sound.
