I am surprised you are a Phil Ochs fan!

Just to say again, the original rule was you can only name an artist once and no compilations.

Ochs was a stunning musician! I appreciate my politics wouldn’t entirely line up, but I have a lot of love for a lot of left leaning and left wing musicians. I’d be a huge Christy Moore fan, and have seen him live.

I’ll just make a change on the Metallica and Dubliners selections!

Apart from that time he rhymed “Scales” with “Appeals” in the Iron Lady! But he was a real loss.

What was that on?
I always felt he was what Dylan was pretending to be.

It’s on “I ain’t marching anymore”. It’s an amazing condemnation of capital punishment and the electric chair. An outstanding tune!

I will pay attention to it. I am spending my day sorting out my Spotify, so will get back to it what exciting times we lead!

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
The Beatles - Revolver
The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
New Order - Technique
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Human League - Dare
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman
Happy Mondays - Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches
The The - Mind Bomb

Could definitely change four or five any given week. Should probably have Fables of the Reconstruction by REM in there now I think of it. And The Hurting by Tears for Fears.

Apart from naming an artist twice, I reckon I could get on very well with that.

Thumbs Up

Will make an exception with naming on the double for The Beatles.

Top Ten is nowhere near enough. Could throw in LCD Soundsystem, Arctic Monkeys, The Undertones debut, shedloads more. Vinyl junkie since I was a kid, have thousands of records at home. Half it house music from around 87 to 02 but that's mainly singles. Actually Leftism by Leftfield should be in there.

I will never understand The Arctic Monkeys, they must have done something though! They can't have been that easy to market. I have enjoyed some of The Last Shadow Puppets stuff though, it just seems less generic and marketed.

Would actually have blur in there ahead of Arctic Monkeys thinking about it. The two Last Shadow Puppets are excellent. Check out Cotherstone by Arctic Monkeys on the Humbug album. Very different from their norm. Exceptional lyrics. Turner's lyrics are the best thing about them, he's very good with words.

His lyrics were never in question, to be fair. He is from a part of the world that is excellent with words; Yorkshiremen tend to use less, so use them better. I still didn't enjoy it much though!
They are no Cribs or Housemartins!
