You may be able to get rid of them in airports or in self service machines in the likes of WH smith but wont be accepted in bars, restaurants etc.

Not the same though - We use the same currency in Ireland and Italy. Gibraltar and the UK technically don't.

Correct. There can be difficulties with NI money in England as people are unfamiliar with it, which has also led to forgeries. Some businesses here still have signs up saying that they don’t accept it.

I was able to exchange £20 of Gibraltar Sterling in Gatwick for £1.50 charge with one of the currency converters. Before that I had tried a few of the shops and none of them would take it.

most of ye are season Travellers and should no to get rid of this kind of currency, all this wacky places currency are next to impossible to change back.. loads in the Faroe island had the same problem as the currency was literally the same as Denmark but their own notes couldn’t be used off the islands

I walked in to the credit union on Wed Morning and changed back 70 Gibraltar sterling to Euros. No Problems.
