What sanctions can the EU take? There’s pretty much no relations between the them at the moment anyway.

Austrian company runs a mobile network there, they could get them to stop following the government's orders - they've been blocking the network during protests, likewise I'd assume most of their comms and banking has links into Europe, could suspend those links. Could close their borders into Europe for politicians, plenty they could do.

The EU could do serious economic damage to Belavia and possibly bankrupt it if it banned flights to Belarus. .

It's not just the EU. Both Greece and Lithuania are members of NATO. Actions like this risk dragging NATO into a military conflict in Europe.

Its an absolutely extraordinary act by an outlier in the European geographic region. Multiple geo-political issues at play. Unacceptable and it should be condemned in the most robust of terms.

Belarus is a strange place, most other ex-soviet places have fairly cleaned up their act and aligned with the West. Belarus seems to have remained fairly nuts. Wonder if it would ever rejoin Russia

Very strange. In fact, his very life is at stake as it is one of the only places in the region to still practice execution. Ensuring his safety is paramount.

As an aside,  the internet's "Free Assange" brigade have been noticeably quiet on the matter.

Have always wondered about this - Why do people use this route? The time saving is very little - Is it just that it saves people from driving?

I'm sure no one here uses third party companies for booking Ryanair flights but here you go anyway.

Ryanair says passengers with a boarding pass issued by booking agent Kiwi will no longer be allowed on its planes.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.
