No but sports in the US of A does. NFL system is excellent ..... Average team only plays 16 games, season is 4 months long.

16 team league, 10 team league, 12 team league, 4 round series, 3 round series, top 6, playoffs. Almost every possibility has been tried with, making no difference.
We don't need to change structure, we need good stadiums, effective promotion, good scheduling, lower ticket prices, thorough and comprehensive tv/media coverage. That extends to more than 5 minute musical highlights three days after games are played, and a 6-inch column in the local paper. But inertia rules supreme and while it does, the league won't improve. |

Playoff structure/Less dead heat games/less repitition is where I believe crowds will improve and obviously there is the risk of poor attendances for some games. Playoff systems have been implemented successfully in Europe eg. Belgium. Also as regards stadia I dont think the build it and they will come idea works on its own as displayed this year by Limerick Edited by AnCearrbhach - 27 Sep 2013 at 7:16pm |
