Damage Done - it's about the drugs smuggler Warren Fellows who does 12 years in a Thai prison great read.

Kenny Egan's book is also a surprisingly very good read.

He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

I read it a while back,I enjoyed it.gave it to a lad and never got it back but I have a book from the same author about the Dallas Cowboys team from the '90's if you have any interest in that.IMO its a better book than the Mets one.

Anyone recommend any books? Non fiction, things based on football, politics, economic, or general history.

Was away on hols last week so got through a few books during the week.

The Secret Race - very interesting if you're into cycling. Now that Lance is busted it's a lot more legit.
Robert Enke's book - sad read. Not the most enjoyable, but interesting to see how a depressed man things about life
Bill O'Herlihy's book - wouldn't recommend. No real insights or good stories, just a walk through his life. Skips over the more interesting bits quickly.
Whose Side are you on - highly recommend. Story bout Sport in NI through the troubles. Lot of stories I'd never head about (I was too young for a lot of books.
The Last Don - Only got halfway through this but enjoying it so far.

lion of ireland story of brian boru morgan lylwelyn

LION OF IRELAND

BY

MORGAN LLYWELYN

KING, WARRIOR, LOVER

Brian Boru was stronger, braver, and wiser than all other men—the greatest king Ireland has ever known. Out of the mists of the country’s most violent age, he emerged to lead his people to the peak of their golden era.

His women were as remarkable as his adventures. Fiona, the druidess with mystical powers. Deirdre, beautiful victim of a Norse invader’s brutal lust. Gormlaith. six-foot, red-haired goddess of sensuality.

Set against the barbaric splendors of the tenth century, this is a story rich in truth and legend—in which friends become deadly enemies, bedrooms turn into battlefields, and dreams of glory are finally fulfilled.

Author Morgan Llywelyn recreates all the passion and greed.

“Llywelyn has woven the historical tales of her country and its greatest High King into a single magnificent book....This is an extraordinary biography of a very human man...with convincing characterizations and vivid, detailed descriptions...

Tom Doherty Associates, Inc. Book Printed in the USA

Praise for Morgan Llywelyn

“Morgan Llywelyn is known for giving life to Irish myth and history in novel form....She presents history in a most readable fashion.”

?

Charleston Post & Courier

“Morgan Llywelyn writes about ancient Ireland as if she just had breakfast there.”

?

Parke Godwin

“One of my all-time favorite authors.”
