He's from Chatham. Unless Kent has moved to the North of Ireland, he's english born and bred.

You're spot on to point this out because it's not like we benefited from players beyond our shores declaring for us.

All I'll say is thank God Andy Townsend has a strong Mayo accent.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Nice little coup for Northern Ireland all the same regarding Washington. Probably be next season before we can fairly judge him in the championship.

The amazing thing about football especially for smaller nations is that they could now have a player who could lead the line for 3 or 4 more campaigns.

You'd wonder why O'Neill didn't call him up anyway if he's eligible.

Has he accepted the pub team's call up?

This is it, I'm at a loss as to why we don't move quicker in these situations.

We would have lost nothing by calling him up, if he was good enough happy days, if not what about it.

Granted we have a bigger playing pool of players to choose from than Northern Ireland, but it's not like we're exactly stocked with young strikers is it?

It's the very area we are desperately weak in especially with younger players given our elder statesmen of a strike force.

Hopefully he refuses it

Watch him score on debut LOL

Even still mate, whether he was a goalkeeper, winger, striker or right back etc we simply cannot afford to not take options in the Championship seriously!

It's criminal how we've just let Northern Ireland have free reign on him Ermm

Doubt he will, considering he's already in the squad for our friendlies with Wales (A) and Slovenia (H) LOL:

Which is no surprise, considering Michael has been watching him for some time now when he was with Posh. And Michael Smith, too.

Moreover, the club were vigorously pushing them both in front of Michael, saying they deserve to be in contention for the Euros etc.

Which is also no surprise, considering such a move could enhance their transfer value. Which is what you would expect from Barry Fry, but (Dubliner) owner Darragh McAnthony's case is perhaps more curious:
"There is no better striker in the country than Conor at the moment, Goals have been added to his pace. His continued evolution will be exciting and it would be great to see him at the Euros in the summer (he is eligible for Northern Ireland)".

Of course, Posh Asst Manager Grant McCann may also have had a word in their shell-likes.
