Throwing eggs?

How is it you never see fans flinging eggs at matches? You can get a good distance with an egg, your not going to cause any damage if you hit someone, and you'd have everyone cheering if you hit say Drogba..not advocatiing it but it seems starnge that it doesn't happen at games..
