Watched last weeks episode on RTE player and it was a bit meh.

It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Didn't realise Mick Lynch was such a die hard fan.

It was a pretty good watch again tonight - probably the best of the three so far.

Great that he mentioned the shambles at the game in Greece.

The 3 person chat at the start needs to be looser and it needs to have someone who can tell a story and probably needs the three people to bounce off other.  If they continue with it they should put it at the end and let natural conversation flow rather than an interview.

First time tuning in but only caught micks interview

Just me or is it an uncomfortably close interview setup?. Kielty & Lynch almost close enough to stick the lips.

Isn't that what chat shows are generally for? The various guests are usually there to flog some thing or another ..promoting their new books, albums, podcast, films/tv series etc..

Spot on, and because of the Hollywood strikes actors aren't allowed to talk about certain movies/TV shows so books seem to be main selling point on chat shows, though this is more so on the likes of Graham Norton rather than the Late Late.

Last night's episode was great. One of those peculiar Irish episodes that wouldn't make sense if you wern't from here. Good to remind some of its detractors aswell that the GAA is much much more than just inter county. It's probably the best social resource in the country.

Kielty played a blinder too. Couldn't imagine Tubs pull it off

To be fair he is a GAA head and Tubridy is not.  Can’t imagine kielty be able to do a book club type shoe talking about books etc.

The amount of animosity towards Kielty from Free Staters is unbelievable.

Absolutely raging that he's presenting it and secondly the amount of Northie guests on it too.

He gets far more love than Tubridy did.  Lots of people hated on Tubridy and Pat Kenny too.

I like Kielty.

Kielty is brilliant, a natural host and interviewer. He does his homework on his guests, asks good questions and knows when to talk and when not to. Tubs and to a lesser degree Kenny never used to let their guests speak, tubs was forever interrupting his guests and trying to finish their sentences for them. He also used to wing a lot of topics he had no personal interests in and ask the same generic questions, usually when it was sports related.

Ive watched more of the Late Late since he took over than I did since Gaybo retired.
