Dunphy's rambling on about who should be playing for Ireland got me thinking.
If you had an under 30 team made up from the Celtic nations  (Wales, Scotland, NI and ROI) how many Irish players would be in the first 11?

For, if everyone was fit, the team would be;

Gordon
Matthews
Wallace
Caldwell
Mulgrew
D.Fletcher
Ramsay
Forrest
Bale
S.Fletcher
Rhodes

The future of Irish soccer looks bleak and I can only think of McCarthy, Coleman, McGeady, ireland and McClean who would get near that team but none would be first picks.  Players who star for Norwich are never going to replace the likes of Duff, Keane, Dunne and Given.  There's a couple of youngests still to break through who look promising, like Paul George, but we all remember promising youngsters like Healy and Miller who's agents,  big heads and  drink habits killed their careers.
The most frightening thing is that it's not even that good a team.
Am I being too harsh?
